Leavin' on a Jet Plane

As of yesterday, we have officially booked everything for a lovely little vacation, woohoo! Nick gets 12 days off, and we are making full use of it. First, we're meeting my family up here:

The San Juan Islands in Washington state

Pretty much my favorite place in the world

My gramma's house

So totally gorgeous! P.S. You can see Orca whales from here!

And somehow, Nick has never been there in the 7 years we've been together. Pretty crazy considering my family goes up there almost every summer. CAN'T WAIT!

Then, from there, we're heading to Nick's family's house in California to hang out for the rest of our vacation. Should be an awesome time, and I think Nick & I are both more than ready for a break from normal life.

Since we're packing so much into 12 days, we're going to have a bunch of looooonnnng travel days. The worst is the first day. Here's the itinerary for that day:

6am Central time-7am Mountain time- Fly from Texas to Denver
8:30am Mountain time-10am Pacific time- Fly from Denver to California
12pm Pacific time- 2:30pm Pacific time- Fly to Seattle
3pm-5:45pm Pacific time- Shuttle from Seattle to ferry port
8:20-9:25pm Pacific time- Ferry to San Juan Island

Ya, that's almost 12 hours of traveling. But oh, it's SO worth it! And the other legs of the trip are nowhere near that crazy, thank goodness! Nick joked that it'll be like a leg from The Amazing Race. Um ya, maybe I wouldn't want to be on that show after all.
